Proud of his years as a professor of both Evocation and Divination at the College of Trimune Wizards, Roland is usually seen wearing his badges of office, a sash with various pins and accoutrements. He is unfailingly optimistic and slow to anger, but his rarely-seen temper is still something to be feared.
Roland grew up on Elta, in the shadow of the Citadel of Korgath. Born into high class, Roland was never destined for hard labor. Instead, when he was a young boy of seven and showed an aptitude for the arcane, he was shipped off to the College of Trimune Wizards where he began his education. The next time he was on Elta, his home town had been destroyed, and the citadel of Korgath was a pile of smoldering rubble.
With nothing left, Roland returned to the Mage Guild with anger and sorrow in his heart. He threw himself into Divination and Evocation, and with a seemingly otherworldly determination mastered the arts over the next six years, making him one of the youngest members of the guild to achieve such an accomplishment. When the Standing Writ of Execution had been passed, Roland applied for a position as an Inquisitor Mage, and at Thirty One was given command of a small group of “hunters”. He spent the next ten years scouring Elta, taking out the years of anger on any and all necromancers or undead that crossed his path. Eventually, he found that his heart was no longer “in it,” so he put in for a transfer to a teaching position.
Roland taught at the College of Trimune Wizards for just over twenty years before he was approached by Thokk Madra, who requested his help in rebuilding Dralas. Roland, eager to get out and see the world again, accepted the invitation on the spot.
